All information and medical records held by this practice are confidential. We may at times have to share this information with others who will include hospitals and other medical organisations. This will always be for the medical benefit of the patient and will only be given to those organisations that have adopted a confidentiality policy. All members of our staff have signed a confidentiality clause within their contract of employment. Any outside organisation requesting information about a patient, must have signed authorisation from that patient before information will be disclosed. The Practice has submitted a Publication Scheme conforming to “The Freedom of Information Act”. This Publication scheme is available from the Practice Manager upon request.
Who has access to your information
Other than the NHS no one else can gain access to your records without your consent.
There is an option to opt in and out of hospitals in and around the West Midlands to be able to access your medical records, if this is something you would like more information on please speak to a member of staff.
