Flu
Flu will often get better on its own, but it can make some people very ill. It's important to get the flu vaccine if you're advised to. Information about Flu
Flu Vaccination Season is due to start 01.9.23 and run till 31.3.24
- Everyone aged 65 and over on the 31.3.24 are eligible for the flu vaccinations
- Patients aged 65 and under if you have a chronic disease example as information below
- Children aged 2 or 3 years on the 31.8.23 are eligible for the nasal flu vaccinations aged 4 and above will be arranged at school.
- All carers are eligible for the vaccination
- All expectant mothers (pregnant patients)
- If you are a housebound patient or live in a nursing home we will contact you in regards to this appointment.
- Front line workers with employment are eligible.
Eligible patients under 65 years of age
- Chronic Respiratory disease aged 6 months or over
- Chronic Heart Disease
- Chronic Kidney Disease
- Chronic Liver Disease
- Chronic Neurological Disease
- Diabetes aged 6 months or older
- Immunosuppression
- Asplenia or dysfunction of the spleen
- Pregnant patients
- Adults with BMI higher than 30
- Close household contact of immunocompromised patients aged over 6 months.
